Public Declaration re. Scientology and my Past Actions
PUBLIC DECLARATION
17 FEBRUARY 2021 IAN CAMPBELL
In January 2011, I publicly supported an attack against the Church of Scientology by a former parishioner, Debbie Cook. Hence, I attacked the Church. This was in the form of a statement I made on Facebook that supported Cook's attempt to turn parishioners against Church management, making me complicit. Further, I emailed her at the time and informed her that I support her actions.
My attack was based on the ignorant idea that Cook was trying to help the Church when, in fact, she was seeking to overthrow its management and upset its parishioners by broadly spreading lies about the Church and its management while ignoring actual statistics. She was attempting to turn parishioners against by feeding them altered and misleading information. I was complicit in this by my support.
Further, I later read anti-church propaganda and stolen materials, thus supporting these.
My unfounded actions were motivated by my prior failures to take full responsibility for situations, thus precipitating my aligning to Cook and publicly supporting her, plus my reading of the stated materials.
I broadly announce that I absolutely in no way endorse my or any other attack against Scientology or, further, any persons or groups of goodwill. I believe that promoting or supporting insurrection on any level in this or any other group of goodwill is a highly destructive act, hence intolerable. I denounce the reading of propaganda and stolen material.
My observation is that the Church of Scientology is bringing remarkable improvement to the World at large. Its management work tirelessly to improve the condition of Mankind. This is evidenced in part by the countless awards that the Church garners worldwide year in and year out. It is further evidenced by the scores of thousands annually who, as a direct result of Church management actions, are freed from drugs, overcome life difficulties, are empowered to gain an education, who learn how to manage their businesses, and, ultimately, can attain spiritual freedom and a practical understanding of life.
I believe Scientology and all people and groups of goodwill should be defended, supported, and helped.
I publicly commit to follow and act on these positive principles.
